1. How much is EROL?

EROL software starts from £99 for Startup Edition for 25 products and a single store license. The next step up is Small Business Edition, costing £399 for up to 10,000 products and a single store license. The fully-featured Business Edition costs £699 and includes up to 10,000 products and contains all features and tools. Developer Edition, which allows you to create and manage multiple EROL stores, costs £999. All prices exclude delivery and VAT - and you can purchase any of these from this website.

2. Can I develop more than one EROL store?

EROL Startup 25, Small Business, Business and Vendor Editions are single store licences, and can run only one website. Developer Edition is the multi-licence version of EROL - from a single installation you can create and mangage multiple online stores for several businesses and/or clients.

3. How do I add information to create my store?

An EROL store is built interlinking web pages created in the Build Manager. The Build Manager contains all the tools needed to create your store menu- structure, pages of information and different categories or departments in your store. It is also where you add each of your products with an image, description, size, price, product code and other information.

4. Can the design be built with Dreamweaver? Or Frontpage?

Yes. EROL has its own HTML Editor in which your content can be formatted and laid-out in your store pages. The HTML Editor can also export elements to an external web editor, like Dreamweaver or Frontpage, so you can work in familiar surroundings whilst formatting and designing the content of your store.

5. I have an existing site - can I import this design directly into EROL?

If you have an existing website, including all your product information, but without a shopping cart functionality, there is no magic button that will turn it into an EROL store. Your design can be easily recreated using EROL's HTML Editor or your usual package, but your products will need to be added manually to the store or imported directly from a data source.

7. How many products does the software support?

EROL Startup 25 Edition will support up to 25 products. All other EROL Editions will support up to 10,000 products.

An EROL store can have an unlimited number of departments, product categories and/or sub-categories.

9. What technical support will I get?

Upon purchase of your EROL package, you are entitled to 30-days free telephone and helpdesk support*. After this period, you can receive free technical support via the dedicated EROL Support website which includes a Knowledge Base and User Forums where plenty of information is shared between the support team and EROL users.

Our annual EROL Cover Plans give you access to EROL Technical Support via telephone and online Helpdesk. You will also receive FREE version upgrades for the period of Cover, so your EROL software is always up to date with the latest features and fixes.

Note: Startup 25 Edition customers are only entitled to helpdesk support for 30 days - no telephone support is available.

10. Do you have a money back guarantee?

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee on your purchase of any version of EROL. If you are not satisfied with EROL within 30 days of purchase, just return the software, we will give you a full refund.

11. Does EROL work on a Mac?

EROL does not currently work on OSX, but it can work on an Intel-based Mac through Windows Virtualisation software such as Parallels or VM Ware. We do not support the use of EROL on the Mac.

No, you don't need coding knowledge. Our users range from complete beginners to top design professionals.

14. Will EROL resize all my product images for me?

No, you will need your own photo-image editing software to resize, crop and resample your product images.

15. How long will it take to build my EROL store?

This will depend on how many departments and products your store needs, and your skill level in using EROL. A single store with a few products might take a few days to from start to finish; a large store with hundreds/ thousands of products, several departments and using the more complex features of EROL may take a few weeks.

16. Is EROL an open-source e-commerce product?

EROL is not open-source. This means that the core program code cannot be extended/modified by a third party developer.

17. Does EROL have a built in store search facility?

Yes - it will search through any product's description, keyword or product code, then return results to the customer. A filtered search is also available, narrowing down results within larger stores.

18. How is your Trial Edition limited?

The Trial Edition you are able to download from this site is restricted to 30 days, and contains all the features you would find in EROL Business version: all design and build tools are available.

19. Does EROL support delivery charges based on quantity, order value or weight?

EROL can setup the delivery charges in your EROL store in a variety of ways, each depending on the destination of the goods. Delivery methods can have 'price-bands' based on total weight, number of items or value of the order, as well as offering a fixed-rate delivery charge or a combination of all those. Individual products can also have shipping costs attached, for especially wrapped/fragile or very large/heavy items - for example.

20. Can I offer discounts to my customers?

Yes, EROL has several methods of offering discounts to your customers. A 'Global Discount' can be applied at the store's checkout page, based on the total order value, which may be Free Delivery, a percentage or fixed amount reduction on their total order value, or even a free gift. Additionally, individual products can have similar discounts applied e.g. Buy 10 of these and save 20%.

21. Can I send my customers login details to access special features?

Yes, from the Customer Manager in EROL (where all customer information is stored) you can create individual or group login details for your store. When logged in, several options may become available to the customer, including personal discounts, account details, free delivery, view order status and more.

22. Can my EROL store sell to wholesale/trade customers as well as consumers ?

Yes. Providing your store with two sets of product prices - one set of Retail price, one set of Trade price - any costumer visiting the store will buy at Retail price. Trade customers, however, accessing the site with login details will view and purchase at Trade price.

23. Can my product data be imported and exported via CSV files?

Yes, EROL has a Data Import Wizard that will take your product data from a CSV or MDB (MS Access) data source. Most of the Managers in EROL have an Export Data feature where different sets of data can be selected and exported to CSV.

EROL 5 can create Standards Compliant and Accessibility Compliant stores, ensuring all EROL 5 stores are search engine friendly. EROL 5 creates a readable HTML page for every page in your store and you have complete control over META tags, Title tags page structure, page names, file names and page content!

25. How do I get customers to visit my store?

There are many different ways to market and advertise your business to attract new customers, and different approaches will work for different types of business. However, many of your customers will find you on the internet, so optimising your EROL store for search engines is very important. We provide a 'How to' guide on optimising your EROL store, and many of our users enjoy high-ranking results on major search engines. Paying for online advertising or search engine 'keyword' campaigns can be helpful to generate traffic. Promote your business and website in local, national and trade magazines and papers with PR stories or display advertising. Most importantly, keep your existing clients happy and they will spread the word!
